ISSF World Cup 2021: India's Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar has won Gold
✔️ Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar of India won a gold medal in the men's 50 meter rifle 3 position event at the ISSF World Cup in New Delhi.
✔️ Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar(age 20) became the youngest player in the history to win a shooting World Cup gold in 3 position event.
✔️ In the final, two other Indian shooters, Sanjeev Rajput, finished sixth and Neeraj Kumar (Niraj Kumar) came in the last place.
✔️ This was India's 8th gold medal in the ongoing World Cup.
✔️ Till date, India has topped the medal table with 15 medals.
✔️ India has won three silver medals and four bronze medals with eight gold medals.
Asha Bhosle: to be honored with 'Maharashtra Bhushan' award
✔️ Renowned singer Asha Bhosle will be honored with the prestigious Maharashtra Bhushan Award for the year 2020.
✔️ A committee headed by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray decided to select Ms. Bhosle for the award of the year 2020.
✔️ Ms. Asha Bhosle, whose sister Lata Mangeshkar had won the award in 1997, said the, ‘she learned from Mr. Thackeray that she had been selected for the 2020 award.’

Yogasan joined Khelo India Youth Games 2021
✔️ India’s Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju included Khelo India Youth Games 2021 to develop Yogasan as a competitive sport in India.
✔️ Yogasan Khel has been included in the Khelo India Youth Games, 2021 for both male and female categories.
✔️ Rijiju has written a reply in the Lok Sabha that the government has also recognized the National Yogasan Sports Federation (NYSF) for the promotion and development of yoga in the country.
✔️ In November 2019, an International Yogasan Sports Federation was formed under the chairmanship of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev with HR Nagendra as General Secretary.

Tokyo 2020 Olympic torch relay begins
✔️ The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch Relay began on 25 March 2021 in Fukushima, Japan.

✔️ Torch will arrive in Tokyo on 23 July 2021 for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.

Saurabh Garg: New CEO of UIDAI
✔️ Senior bureaucrat, Saurabh Garg, has been appointed by the Center as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) as part of an effective bureaucratic reshuffle.
✔️ Currently Mr. Saurabh Garg is serving his cadre in the Odisha state.
✔️ He is a 1991 batch IAS officer.

Visakhapatnam: Mobile Water from Air Kiosk & Water Knowledge Centre
✔️ Hyderabad-based startup, Maithri Aquatech has been set up the world's first mobile water-from-air-kiosk and 'water knowledge center' in the smart city of Visakhapatnam.
✔️ This initiative is supported by an alliance between Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) and Project SEWAH (Sustainable Enterprise for Water and Health) - USAID and SWN (Safe Water Network).
✔️ The kiosk will provide clean potable water from the air using Friendship Aquatech's Meghdoot solution as a source to generate water without dependence on groundwater as well as surface water resources.
✔️ The kiosk will also serve as the Water Knowledge Resource Center (WKRC), raising awareness of members of local illiterate communities as well as the benefits of good water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) practices in nearby schools, and Necessary information will be provided.
Xiaomi: plans to build electric vehicles (EVs)
✔️ Xiaomi Corp of China plans to manufacture electric vehicles (EVs) using the factory of Great Wall Motor Company Limited.

Indian-American doctor Vivek Murthy becomes American Surgeon General
✔️ The US Senate has voted 57-43 to confirm the appointment of Indian-American doctor Vivek Murthy as Surgeon General under the administration of US President Biden.
✔️ 43-year-old Dr. Murthy will assume the post of Surgeon General of America for the second time.
✔️ Earlier, Dr. Murthy was appointed as Surgeon General under the Obama administration in 2011, but was fired in 2017 by former President Trump.

✔️ 'Two technology-enabled initiatives have been launched by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to leverage digital solutions to achieve the vision of a Prime Minister of a digitally empowered India.

Fitch Ratings Estimated India's GDP at 12.8% for FY22
✔️ Fitch, the US credit rating agency, has revised India's GDP growth estimate for the fiscal 2021-22 to 12.8% from its previous estimate of 11% in its latest Global Economic Outlook (GEO).
✔️ The improvement in GDP rate is based on factors such as a stronger carryover effect, relaxed fiscal stance and better virus control.
✔️ Furthermore, for FY 2022–23, Fitch expects GDP growth of 5.8%.
Indian Coast Guard ship 'Vajra' joins Indian Coast Guard
✔️ The L&T-built Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) ICGS Vajra was inducted into the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) by General Bipin Rawat, the Chief of Defense Staff in Chennai.
✔️ The ICGS Vajra is the sixth vessel in a series of seven OPVs being built by L&T under a contract signed by the Ministry of Defense in the year 2015.
✔️ Like the five OPVs in the series, the ICGS Vajra was also pushed ahead of the contract schedule.
✔️ OPVs are long-range surface ships, capable of operations in the maritime areas of India, including the island area with helicopter operation capabilities.
✔️ His roles include coastal and offshore patrolling, policing, control and surveillance in India's maritime zone, anti-smuggling and anti-piracy operations with limited war time role.
✔️ It can maintain a constant speed up to 26 knots.
