1. National Immunization Day: 16 March

️ India celebrates National Immunization Day on 16 March every year.

️ The Government of India celebrates National Immunization Day every year to convey the importance of vaccination to the people of the country.

️ In 1995, the first dose of an oral vaccine against polio was given in India.

️ India has been observing the Pulse Polio program since 1995.

️ The main purpose behind celebrating National Immunization Day is to make all people aware of polio prevention and eradicate it completely from the world.

️ On 27 March 2014, India was certified as a polio-free country along with 11 other countries in the South-East Asia region of the World Health Organization (WHO).

️ The last case of polio patients in India was revealed on 13 January 2011.

 

 

2. Virat: First to score 3,000 runs in T20

️ Virat Kohli became the first batsman to score 3,000 runs in T-20 International.

️ Kohli achieved the feat during the second T-20-International match against England on 14 March 2021 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

️ He now has 3,001 runs from 87 T20I matches.

️ New Zealand's Martin Guptal is second on the list of T20 cricket, scoring 2,839 runs in 99 matches.

 

 

3. Mithali Raj: World's first cricketer to score 7000 runs in ODI cricket

️ India's captain Mithali Raj has achieved a major feat.

️ She has become the first cricketer to score 7,000 runs in women's ODI international cricket.

️ He touched this figure in his 213rd match during the fourth ODI against South Africa in Lucknow.

️ Mithali Raj had completed her 10,000 runs in international cricket in the last match.

️ Mithali became the second female player to achieve this feat.

 

 

4. RBI data: 6.63% increase in bank credit

️ As per RBI data, bank credit increased by 6.63% to Rs 107.75 lakh crore and deposits increased by 12.06% to Rs 149.34 lakh crore for the fortnight ended 26 February 2021.

️ In the fortnight ended 28 February 2021, bank credit stood at Rs 101.05 lakh crore.

️ Bank credit increased by 6.58 percent to Rs 107.04 lakh crore and deposits increased by 11.75 percent to Rs 147.81 lakh crore in the last fortnight, which ended on 12 February 2021.

 

 

5. Japan and Australia: Hydrogen production from brown coal begins

️ Japanese-Australian enterprise has started production of hydrogen from brown coal.

️ Japan and Australia have collaborated for this $ 500 million pilot project.

️ The aim is to demonstrate that liquefied hydrogen can be produced commercially and can be safely exported abroad.

️ Both countries plan to create the first international supply chain for liquefied hydrogen.

 

 

6. Hardeep Singh Brar: The Head of Kia Motors

️ Kia Motors India Limited has announced about the appointment of Hardeep Singh Brar as national head of sales and marketing with immediate effect.

️ He will join Kia Motors from the Chinese company Great Wall Motors, where he served as Director of Sales and Marketing.

7. Sri Lanka: Decision to ban wearing burqa

️ After Switzerland, Sri Lanka has also decided to ban the wearing of burqa.

️ Along with this, there is a preparation to close more than one thousand Islamic schools across the country.

️ Public Security Minister Sarat Veerashekhara told in a press conference that wearing a burqa has been banned for national security.

13. Marvin Hagler died

️ Former undisputed middleweight world champion Marvelus Marvin Hagler died in March 2021.

️ The American dominated the middleweight division since 1979, following his controversial defeat by Sugar Ray Leonard in April 1987.

️ Hagler struggled 67 times during his 14-year professional career, winning 62.

️ He scored 12 successful title defense.
