1. World Rotaract Day: 13 March

️ World Rotaract day is observed on 13 March every year.

️ Rotaractors around the world today celebrate World Rotarctic Day, since the Rotarct Club was established for the first time on 13 March 1968.

️ Rotreact begans as a Rotary International Youth Program in 1968 at Charlotte North Rotary Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.

️ It has grown into a major Rotary-sponsored organization of 9,539 clubs spread across the world and 219,397 members.

️ It’s a community service organization for young men and women between the ages of 18 to 30.

 

2. Kerala HC: Transgender approved for admission in NCC

️ On 15 March, the Kerala High Court allowed a transgender woman to join the National Cadet Corps.

️ This was done after Hina Hanifa filed a petition challenging the section of the NCC Act allowing only men and women to enroll with the Cadet Corps.

️ The court directed the NCC to amend it’s nomination criterias and allow entry of transgenders into the cadet corps.

 

3. Jammu and Kashmir: Poplar Day celebrated

️ In Jammu and Kashmir, Urban Forest Division Srinagar organized an event to celebrate Chinnar Day on 15 March 2021 at Shuhama Campus of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST).

️ Poplar plants were planted within the campus.

️ The department is currently planting around 2000 poplar plants.

 

4. NPCI: UPI-Help launched on BHIM app for grievance redressal

️ The National Payments Corporation of India-NPCI, the umbrella unit for digital payments in India, has launched a new application called "UPI-Help" on BHIM UPI, a grievance redressal mechanism for users of the BHIM application. Will act as

️ Initially, UPI-Help has been made live on BHIM app for customers of State Bank of India, AXIS Bank, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank.

️ Users of other banks participating in UPI will also be added to UPI-Help soon.

 

5. Juvenile Justice Amendment Bill 2021

️ Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Amendment Bill 2021 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 15 March 2021.

️ The Minister of Women and Child Development Smriti Irani has introduced the Bill, which seeks to amend the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.

️ The amendments authorize the District Magistrate to issue adoption orders to ensure speedy disposal of cases.

 

6. NCT Territory Government of Delhi (Amendment) Bill 2021

️ The National Capital Territory of Delhi Government (Amendment) Bill 2021 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 15 March 2021.

️ The Minister of State for Home Affairs, G. Kishan Reddy has introduced the Bill, which amends the National Capital Territory of Delhi Government 1991 Act.

️ The purpose of the Bill is to promote harmonious relations between the legislature and the executive.

 

7. Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill 2021

️ On 15 March 2021, the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill 2021 was introduced in the Lok Sabha.

️ The Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi has introduced the Bill which amends the Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act 1957.

️ The Bill empowers the Central Government to issue instructions regarding the structure and use of funds held by the District Mineral Foundation.

 

8. National Institute of Pharma Education Bill

️ National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (Amendment) Bill 2021 has  introduced in Lok Sabha on 15 March 2021.

️ Its aim to amend the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Act 1998.

️ It seeks to give the status of institutions of national importance to the existing 6 national pharmaceutical institutions.

 

9. Yuzvendra Chahal: The highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket for India

️ Team India lost by 8 wickets in the first Twenty-Twenty match against England.

️ But in this match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Team India's star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has managed to create history.

️ Chahal has become the highest wicket-taker for India by overtaking Jasprit Bumrah in the T20 format.

️ With this current wicket, Chahal's wickets in the International T20 increased to 60.

️ Jasprit Bumrah has taken 59 wickets in 50 matches in T20 International.
